For the past few years the Port of Seattle has been working closely with the Fishermen's Terminal Advisory Committee (FTAC) and the fishing community to redevelop Docks 5 through 10 at Fishermen's Terminal. The project will:
The design includes demolition of existing Docks 5 through 10. Docks 5, 7, and 10 will be reconstructed as combination fixed and floating concrete docks. Dock 6 will be removed to accommodate longer slips and maintain fairway widths of the new docks. Docks 8 and 9 will be reconstructed as floating docks. A new floating dock, referred to as the Multi-Use Dock, will be built between Dock 10 and the West Wall along the face of the South Wall. A new linear, floating Public Access Dock will also be constructed between Docks 9 and 10.

Most of the existing lines were approximately 50 years old and had exceeded their design life. These lines were no longer reliable and were replaced in order to meet code-required and fire protection capacity requirements.
