Holland American Line and the Port of Seattle Partner to Help Area Charities
Holland America Line will collect valuable and reusable goods from their ships sailing from Seattle this summer, and donate them to Seattle area charities serving people in need.
Port Commissioners and CEO join Holland America and Northwest Harvest leaders to display bins of shampoo and boxes of used dishes that will be donated to needy local families via the “Ship-to-Shelter” program.
Office of Social ResponsibilityThe Port of Seattle established its Office of Social Responsibility to engage the community and to assure that all Port business is conducted within a framework of fairness, inclusion, openness and economic development.
Veterans Fellowship ProgramThe Office of Social Responsibility has teamed with the Port's Human Resources department to create the Veterans Fellowship Program. This program is designed to assist active duty veteran's transition from military retirement into mainstream occupations. Find out more here.

How we define Social Responsibility:It means we conduct business in a way that is open, fair and inclusive. We use our organizational resources to facilitate opportunities for small and disadvantaged businesses. We also take on a broader role of helping to develop sectors of the workforce for the changing nature of opportunity; reaching out to the community as a partner and catalyst for important new initiatives; and developing and implementing initiatives that help provide a sustainable future for our region.
